PREPARATIVE FORM: WATER- DISPERSIBLE GRANULES (WG)

RAPIDUS WG, WG – a systemic post-emergence selective herbicide from the sulfonylurea group, designed for the control of annual and some perennial broadleaf weeds in cereal crops and maize. Its action is mitigated by a safener. It is effective against weeds resistant to 2,4-D.

• MECHANISM OF ACTION

RAPIDUS WG, is absorbed through the weed foliage and rapidly translocated to the growing points. At these points, it inhibits the production of the enzyme acetolactate synthase (ALS), which leads to the disruption of the synthesis of essential amino acids and ultimately halts cell division. Weed growth stops immediately, and the plant dies over time. The included safener accelerates the breakdown of the active ingredient in target crop plants, ensuring high selectivity. Vegetation of the weeds stops immediately after application, with the first visible symptoms—such as yellowing and chlorosis—appearing within 1–2 weeks, and full weed death occurring within one month.

• APPLICATION METHODS

RAPIDUS WG, WG should be applied at temperatures between +5°C and +25°C under dry and windless conditions, preferably in the morning or evening when solar radiation is minimal and no rainfall is expected within the next 8 hours. The use of an adjuvant is essential to achieve the desired efficacy. Application is not recommended on physically damaged crops (e.g., due to hail, wind, or insect infestation) or in cases of legume undersowing. The product can be used alone or in tank mixtures with the following herbicides:
